7 Questions You Should Ask Before Hiring A Drain Cleaning Service

When calling a plumber to clear your drains here are just a few questions that you may not have thought to ask, but you really should – okay? Here we go.

  1. Will I get a warranty on drain cleaning in case the line backs up again?
  2. Will they come back for free during the warranty period if I’m still having trouble? (By the way, we do!)
  3. Does your drain cleaning “special” only cover the first 50 feet of snaking the line, or will they go as far as 100 feet to get all the way out to the city main?
  4. How much extra does it cost to add another 100 feet of snake if it’s necessary?
  5.  Ask if you’ll have to pay for a service call to have someone come out to give a ” free estimate “?
  6. If the charge is by the hour, ask if that is charged for travel time or just work time?
  7. Ask if there is a separate “service & travel fee”.  If so, is that applied to the work being done or is that on top of the cost to do the job?
